See? I told you we love this place! After splitting a Lamb Wrap, we decided we had yet to have enough lamb. We also wanted to try something new, so we ordered the Chicken and Lamb Combo Shawarma Platter. It comes with sides of Hummus, Tabouleh, and more that delicious Tangierine Couscous Salad we had at lunch. It also is served with fresh Moroccan bread
The platter comes with both the sliced lamb and chicken you would be served in the wraps. Sliced onions are placed on top with tzaziki.
The lighter meat on the left is the chicken. It’s texture is different as it’s a little “spongier.” It reminds me of when I make chicken kefta at home. It was still very good in flavor, but of course we chose the lamb victorious in a side by side taste test. The bread was fairly standard, but that was okay as it served more as a utensil.
The couscous was the same as I had spoke of earlier. I really enjoyed their tabouleh, a parsley based salad. It was light, fresh, and aromatic. The hummus was very smooth and slightly lemony. The bread was perfect for dipping into it. Another winning item from Tangierine Café!
