The Land: November 1982

The Land, like every other pavilion in Future World, has changed quite a bit since opening in 1982. There was the removal of narrators from Listen to the Land (now Living with the Land), Kitchen Kabaret (and later Food Rocks!) has made way for Soarin’, and Symbiosis is now The Circle of Life: An Environmental Tale.

What is now The Garden Grill Restaurant was then known as The Good Turn Restaurant (later The Land Grille Room). Farmer’s Market became The Sunshine Season Food Fair, which has since dropped to simply “Sunshine Seasons” with its reinvention during refurbishment from 2004-05. Well, according to the park map at least; Disney’s website lists it as Sunshine Season Food Fair.

This is by no means a comprehensive list of changes since opening day. One thing that remains is the inspiration behind the pavilion. Unfortunately, now it seems most of the pavilion is overlooked. Next time you’re there, go ahead and grab your Fastpasses for Soarin’, but also take the time to Listen to the Land.
