Riverside Mill: Last Minute Food for Watching Yehaa Bob

Yehaa Bob performs (typically) Wednesday through Saturday at River Roost located at Port Orleans Riverside (be sure to check out his website for his schedule!). Matt and I are no strangers to Bob; he has a penchant for names, and when he recognizes you, he’ll call you out! Trust me. :)

The first night of our trip, we popped in to visit Bob about 10 minutes before 10pm. Despite having been eating around World Showcase, we wanted to order something to snack on during the show. Unfortunately, we were informed River Roost’s kitchen had already shut down for the night. No nachos, buffalo chicken nuggets, or crawfish tails for us. Matt thought on his feet and went over to Riverside Mill to pick us up some food from their pizza window and returned with one of their (awful to me) cheese pizzas for himself and an order of their breadsticks for me.

When you’re hungry for something familiar, it will do in a pinch. I’m not going to get too far into this pizza. I don’t like it, but some people actually enjoy it. To each their own on this one. Neither of us are real fans, but Matt has a much higher tolerance for it.

The real deal for me is found in their Breadsticks with Marinara. They’re not your soft, squishy variety from that restaurant which has a menu that has nothing to do with olives.  These are slices of toasted, seasoned bread which on their own are delicious; almost like giant crouton sticks.

Marinara with my addition of Crushed Red Pepper

The marinara they serve pairs perfectly with the crunchy, savory breadsticks. It’s a little sweet, but thick and chunky. I like to add a lot of crushed red pepper to mine, and have a pile of parmesan cheese to dip the breadsticks in. Matt had come back with two packs of each for us, so I hightailed it back to Riverside Mill, where everything had already been shut down. The CMs were cleaning up for the night. Apparently they weren’t staying open until midnight, and had closed up shop shortly after 10. I was out of luck in getting extra spices and cheese for my snack. No worries, though. Our night had just begun with Yehaa Bob!

So are you a lover or hater of this particular Disney pizza? Have you tried the breadsticks there? Have you grabbed any other food from Riverside Mill to bring over to a Yehaa Bob show?

  1. If this is the same pizza they have at Pizza Planet, etc. around the parks, then my family LOVES this pizza. We live in Chicago and are deep dish (Lou Malnati’s!!) pizza lovers, but there is something about that Disney pizza that we love. The sauce is slightly sweet, the crust is chewy and tasty. I almost feel like we should be in some sort of Disney pizza loving protection program since I know most people hate it. You’ll have to guess if that is my real name below : )

  2. It is the same stuff. Like I said, some people LOVE it! One of my friends is one of those people, yet I’m still her friend anyway. ;) I’m originally from Long Island, so I have completely different expectations for pizza. I’ve found a couple places in Orlando that come close to NY style, fortunately. When on Disney property, I’ll stick to the items labeled “flatbread” unless it’s from Via Napoli!

  3. I found the pizza at Pizza Planet edible. I found the pizza at Port Orelans inedible. I don’t think they are the same?

  4. From my experience, the individual size pizzas are the same. They have the too-thick crust, overly sweet sauce, and very little cheese that pools to the center of the pie thanks to the crust puffing up. Unless it’s pizza from Via Napoli or a flatbread, I’m not eating it! :)
