It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and I don’t see it on the horizon in the near future. On a recent exploration of Fort Wilderness, however, I did grab some fun photos relating to the experience. First and foremost, I wanted to grab a photo recreation of one I had from March, 1983. Here is how the building looks today (with Christmas decorations)…
And here it is in 1983. My original post sharing this photo can be found here. There have been some minor changes over time, but the integrity remains.
Across the way, you can find the check-in area for the Revue. It too is well themed for the area. You’ll find several ingredients there that you will soon be enjoying in the restaurant.
First up are a couple of sacks of Red Star Flour. I bet they use this in the batter for the cornbread and strawberry shortcake, as well as to coat the fried chicken.
Next is a barrel of dried beans, the primary ingredient for their Cowboy Beans.
And what I anticipate to be my favorite, some “Tickle your ribs” Tickle Bar-B-Q Sauce!
Okay, this post makes me want to make it a point to get over there sooner rather than later. I’ll have discuss this one with Matt and make a date to visit!
My memories of Hoop-Dee-Doo date back to circa 1987, when I was around 5 years old. I only remember playing the washboard. Do you have any memories of the restaurant, whether they be from “earlier times” or more recent? I’d love to hear them!
