Snacks from UK: Nestle Lion Bar

Nestle’s Lion Bar from the U.K. simply sounds awesome. There’s no immediate description, but the back of the package gives you a rundown of what to expect: Filled wafer, caramel, cereals, and milk chocolate.  I purchased this bar from the Tea Caddy in the U.K. pavilion in Epcot. for $2.59.

The ingredients are similar to most other candy bars (I like to add these lists for those with allergies so they know in advance whether or not they can enjoy it).

The nutrition is about what one would expect from as well.

The candy bar doesn’t look like much when you take it out of the package…

…but the cross section reveals otherwise. It has the dual layer wafers of a Kit Kat, surrounded by a layer of caramel like a Twix, and coated by Nestle Crunch.

The wafers and crisp rice help scale back the sweetness of the chocolate and caramel. The sweetness from the caramel became a bit more apparent after a few bites. It was on the verge of being a bit too sweet for my liking, but a small piece or two wasn’t bad. There’s no way I could eat an entire bar in one sitting. Matt gave it a try and he liked it. I liked all the components and the differences in texture. Overall, a tasty candy bar.

If you’ve tried the Nestle Lion Bar, let us know what you thought of it!

  2. Very cool! The caramel fudge sounds interesting!
