Lotus Blossom Cafe: Potstickers and Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice

I’ve mentioned before Chinese food isn’t really my first choice when dining, even when at Epcot (although  a trip to Nine Dragons in Epcot’s China pleasantly surprised me). While visiting with some friends, they were getting a bit hungry and decided to stop by, and were kind enough to let me photograph their orders.

These menu pictures from April shows the Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice picture has been swapped for the Vegetable Stir Fry with Steamed Rice. And I’m pretty sure entree #2 is the Beef Noodle Soup Bowl as opposed to the Sesame Chicken Salad. I believe these have been corrected since then! ;)

The portion for the Orange Chicken is quite large, making it a decent value. I was told it was pretty status quo for the dish as well.

The Potstickers are made with ground pork and come three to a serving alongside a dipping sauce. Personally they don’t look like the most appetizing item, but apparently they were okay, though I have heard these can be hit or miss.

I’d probably give the Orange Chicken a try myself, though the Sesame Chicken Salad looks like a decent, light meal as well. Apart from food, you can also find Tsing Tao beer, Budweiser, Yeungling, and Plum Wine. For dessert, you can get an Cinnamon Apple Egg Roll, Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream, or Caramel Ginger Ice Cream. If you’re looking for lighter snacks, check out Joy of Tea near the pavilions entrance, especially to avoid lunch or dinner lines.

What do you think of Lotus Blossom Cafe’s offerings? Do you ever grab a meal there, or do you find it a bit too standard  with what you can find “at home?”

  1. With the embarrassment of riches that is dining in and around the Epcot area, I’ve never tried anything from the Lotus Blossom Café or Nine Dragons. Chinese isn’t my favorite cuisine in the first place and I have this assumption that the stuff served in Epcot is going to be like Panda Express quality. I am interested in a couple of the Joy of Tea stand’s snacks, though. I’m curious about the curry chicken pocket and the pork buns.

  2. I completely agree, but my experience at Nine Dragons was a good one. I’m still “meh” on Lotus Blossom Cafe though. I personally need to give it a shot, apart from just grabbing the egg rolls as I’ve done once because I needed to eat before passing out due to hunger. Not exactly the best time to make true review! I believe I’ve eaten there a several years ago before I moved here, but I didn’t really pay much attention to what I was eating. Although I haven’t tried the Curry Chicken Pocket at Joy of Tea, I have tried the pork buns. They’re baked as opposed to steamed (like you’d get in the Dim Sum basket at Yak & Yeti), but still tasty. The meat is slightly sweet, and it’s definitely something I’d order again. Now I’m getting hungry for both of those items! :)
