Has it been as insane of a week for you as it was for us? Yes? Well let’s go grab some cocktails! No? Let’s grab some anyway! The Margarita Bar at Downtown Disney is a great place to grab a “walking drink.” The on-the-rocks drinks here are well made, and you don’t have to find a spot at a busy restaurant bar to enjoy one. Order a cocktail and stroll around the shops in air conditioned comfort while you sip away.
The margarita special remains the same since at LEAST last summer…
Matt had never enjoyed one of the margaritas from this stand, so it was time for him to partake in an icy beverage while doing some window shopping. He chose the Patron Anejo Margarita ($12.50), no salt, which features Patron Anejo Tequila, Cointreau, and a splash of Grand Marnier. It was a high quality, well balanced margarita.
I wasn’t in a margarita mood (I know, blasphemy!) so I ordered a Rum Runner ($9), a mixture of Bacardi Superior Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Banana Liqueur, and a float of Bacardi 151. This drink hit the spot on the scorching day that we were imbibing. I’m not a fan of banana flavored items, unless it’s an actual banana, because it always tastes artificial to me. The banana liqueur in this drink was a background note and had that slight “green” banana flavor without tasting fake. I loved it.
If you’re looking for a less expensive margarita, try the Marina Margarita. Last summer it was $8.75, but I think the $9.00 price tag may be the new $8.75, pre-tax and tip.
Do you ever stop by the Margarita Bar on your visits to Downtown Disney? Let us know your drink of choice!
