Storybook Treats Sundae

Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland offers soft serve ice cream and cococtions such as sundaes, shakes, and floats. It’s typically a location I pass by; if I’m going to have ice cream, I prefer the real deal. However, with Matt wanting something cold and sweet in the park on a recent visit, he decided to order a Sundae.

Their Sundaes are served with your choice of chocolate, vanilla or swirl soft serve and are topped with fudge, strawberry, or caramel topping. and whipped cream.

Matt requested both fudge and caramel, and the cast member happily obliged to his request.

The heat helped speed along the melting process. After a couple bites, I’d had enough. It was way too sweet for me. Matt managed to put a decent dent in the remainder.

And, of course, he had to make it into soup…

If you have a sweet tooth, you can certainly get your fill of sugar here. I wouldn’t say any of the elements of the Sundae were stand out, but for an easy soft serve fix, it definitely fits the bill.

Which soft serve treat do you like to order from Storybook Treats?

  1. If anyone asks me where I get my ice cream while at the parks, my answer is not a location… it is “Mickey Bar”!!! I just have to have it when I’m there for some reason…. But I have tried the Hot Fudge Sunday from Storybook Treats and I have to say it was pretty good… very sweet, but pretty good. I’ve been there only once, since the Mickey Bar is everywhere, but I would definitely go back there.

  2. It’s been a few years since I’ve had a Mickey Bar, but the Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich I had a few weeks ago hit the spot!

  3. I just can’t bring myself to get a soft-serve sundae at Disney. If I’m in the mood for an ice cream treat I prefer to get something that I can’t get in the real world. Like a Dole Whip or a Citrus Swirl. :)

  4. I agree. I was bummed that Matt didn’t at least order one of the more substantial items on the menu! I’m not crazy about Dole Whips, but I do love the Citrus Swirl!

  5. I agree with the others, when I worked at WDW I’d ALWAYS get a Mickey Bar! Hubby would always get the Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches.

  6. The Mickey Bar is pretty tasty, but the Ice Cream Sandwich seems to last longer in the heat (at least from my experience!). I do need to get a Mickey Bar again soon. I can’t believe I have yet to review one on here!

  7. I agree, the sandwich do last a lot longer in the heat (which is sort of surprising)! I was thinking of reviewing one on my Disney food blog too but I was thinking, “what exactly am I going to say…?” LOL

  8. Say anything you want! It doesn’t have to be just about how it tastes… Does it inspire a memory? Does it make you feel like you’re home at the park? Heck, do you just love the crinkle of the wrapper?! The sky is the limit! :)

  9. Haha very true! Thanks for the encouragement :)
