Hawaii’s Seven Tiki® Mai Tai

38 days until F&W grazing for me!
Fried cheese!!!!!! I loved that thing last year!
I’m totally guilty of ordering it a few times during the festival!
Oh man, the griddled cheese from Greece is one of my favourite things at the Festival. SO glad it is coming back, I’ve tried to make it at home!
I need to try to make it at home! Love the textures and the balance of salty and sweet with this one.
I concur with the tuna poke and the Korean lettuce wraps. I’m also glad to see that the coq au vin and fisherman’s pie are returning. I hope the changes to the steamed mussels at the Belgium booth are for the better, and although I’ll miss some of my favorites from last year’s Japan booth, I’m looking forward to all of their new offerings.
I have yet to attend the festival… My family’s schedule and the festival seem to never match.. LOL… Hoping to see lots of pictures from you guys!!
Melissa – I was pleasantly surprised by the Coq au Vin. It’s not a dish I’d had before and really enjoyed it. While I’ve loved the Fisherman’s Pie in the past, last year it left me a bit disappointed. It was primarily potato. I’ll probably give it another try this year, but I’m in no rush to do so unless I hear a batch is particularly filled with seafood. I also liked the mussels when I tried them in 2010, so will probably give the new incarnation a try. I’m sure Matt won’t mind waiting in line for the Belgian Waffle! With the exception of the Cali roll, I’m pretty sure we’ll be trying everything from Japan. It’s always a booth I look forward too, even when items are restaurant standards!
Ricardo – Hopefully you can make it down one year! Until then, please feel free to live vicariously through us!
Exactly the same for me in regards to the Japan booth. I understand why a California roll is on the menu, but I’d rather taste the “real” stuff.
