Dino Diner: Frozen Bacardi Raspberry Rum Lemonade

While exploring Dinoland at Animal Kingdom, something on the menu at Dino Diner caught my eye: the Frozen Bacardi Raspberry Rum Lemonade. The stand had just opened for the day, and with a few hours of exploring ahead of me, I figured I’d give it a try. I’m not always a fan of the frozen slushy drinks in the parks, although there have been a few that were a surprise, in a good way, for me. Plus, I love drinks with a kick of raspberry, so I figured that additional flavor would save what might be a too-sweet-for-me drink.

About a shot’s worth of Bacardi Razz is poured into the bottom of the cup, which is then topped with their Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade. Be sure to give it a stir! I was then asked if I wanted a spoon. No thanks, a straw would be sufficient for my beverage. ;) (Do any of you order frozen drinks and eat them with a spoon? After all, it’s not a Nestle Frozen Lemonade cup from one of the ice cream carts!)

The drink will set you back $8.50, which is a bit more expensive than several other drinks I’ve seen added to the snack stands and restaurants in the park (more on that below!). I imagine that using the Bacardi brand in this drink is how they warrant the upcharge.

That being said, I thought the drink was okay, but I wouldn’t shell out the $8.50 for it again, especially when I can run over to Yak & Yeti Quality Beverages and get a Yak Attack for $8. Plus, there are several other drinks making appearances. Here is a look at what you can find in the park.

Trilo-Bites in Dinoland is offering a Frozen Blueberry-Mango Rum Lemonade for $7.75. Too bad you have to get close to the Turkey Leg smell to order it!

On Discovery Island, Safari Pretzels is serving up a Frozen Mango Rum Lemonade for $7.75.

Dawa Bar in Africa has a Sugar Cane Mojito.

And back in Dinoland, Restaurantosaurus has both a Lychee Coconut Rum Lemonade and a Wildberry Mango Rum Lemonade for only $6.75 each! Having enjoyed the non-alcoholic Lychee Lemonade at Sundowner Celebration, I’m really looking forward to the addition of the coconut rum!

Which of these drinks sounds delicious to you? Do you think any are worth a gamble, or would you stick to something tried and true?
