Disney World Popcorn

I would imagine that most of you have enjoyed a box of Disney popcorn in your travels to the World. While it’s really nothing spectacular (though much better when freshly popped!!, I always look forward to ordering some in a souvenir bucket – particularly during Halloween! While I’ve had to part with some really cool buckets over the years due to moving, I took the opportunity to rebuild at least a small collection of designs that really stand out to me. Since Halloween is my favorite holiday, this was definitely a great way to kick off my new collection!

The popcorn is crunchy, salty, buttery, and deliciously savory. It’s difficult to not stop eating it once you’ve started. I like getting the buckets in part due to the lid, which helps me moderate my popcorn intake when necessary.

I’ll also say that these buckets are a souvenir that do not just sit tucked away in a cabinet – we actually used in the other night! We popped a bag of popcorn, which fit perfectly into the bucket. We melted a bit of butter to add on top along with an extra sprinkling of salt, popped the lid on, and gave it a few shakes. We were then well on our way to fighting for hand space within the bucket while watching a movie! I think we’re going to need another bucket around here. ;)

Here is the Halloween design – I love Devil Donald!

When you order popcorn in the parks, do you stick to the paper box or choose the souvenir bucket? How do you reuse them at home?

  1. I’ve used them in the bath tub to dump water on the kids. They like them. :)

  2. You have to get the bucket! It’s a snack and a souvenir all in one! I feel the same way about martinis with extra olives: a drink and an appetizer all in one!

Plus the lid keeps the popcorn fresh so I can take it back to my room to enjoy later.

  3. I might get some popcorn this year in the souvenir bucket to give my best friend’s son something to play with later or maybe use for his Halloween night. I usually just get the paper box since popcorn seems to be hit or miss for me. Sometimes I get the great, buttery, not too salty portion and others I get what amounts to a salt lick (doesn’t seem to matter when I get it, ie. fresh popped vs sitting around). LOL.

  4. Beth – That’s a great use! We used to reuse plastic souvenir cups for the same purpose, and can only imagine the popcorn buckets are MUCH more efficient!

Fran – Bloody Marys with a lot of garnishes also make for a great two-fer!

Cherry – The bucket is a pretty good value since I believe you get a bit more, plus it’s a souvenir. Works great for a gift for someone, too!
