If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you’ve probably noticed we’re fans of hitting up The Wave at the Contemporary for pre- or post-Magic Kingdom drinks and snacks. One of the items on the menu we’ve wanted to try is the Soft Pretzels and Dips. Well, we finally did indeed order them, and we were glad we did!
Three soft pretzels are cut on the bias and served alongside two dips. The mustard dipping sauce is a standard honey mustard, but the second is a sweet-spicy cream cheese. The latter is pretty awesome, and in the future we’ll likely request two sides of it instead of the honey mustard.
The sweetness is subtle, balanced by the hint of jalapeno spice. For those who don’t like a lot of heat, this is a good option as I thought there was more flavor that burn to the dip.
The mustard sauce, as previously mentioned, was a simple, safe pairing. If you like honey mustard and pretzels, this isn’t going to be impressive, but it’s a solid choice.
Here’s a look at the most recent bar and desserts menus. I highly recommend the Bison Burger Flatbread! Our bartender mentioned that the soft pretzels have been very popular since they’ve been added, but the crab & shrimp cakes are still a top choice.
If you’ve tried the Soft Pretzels with Dips, let us know what you though!

This sounds like a match made in heaven. I love soft pretzels (especially with cheese) and the Wave’s lounge.
We’re scheduled to have dinner here on the 31st since the sous chef here trained under my other best friend’s husband Dan (he’s sous chef at Wilderness now I think). The pretzel bread looks great and I’ll have to see if I can convince my friend to try it even though she hates all things spicy (she even considers non-spicy curry to be spicy
).
Cherry – I’m sure you’ll have a wonderfull dinner here! Even if your friend doesn’t want to try the dipping “sauces,” she can probably handle the pretzel!
Melissa – Yes and yes! The Wave is such a fantastic place to unwind, or gear up, for MK! And the lounge area is so relaxing!

Do they let you mix and match the dessert trios? Just curious . . . .
I’m not sure if they let you mix and match as I didn’t ask, but it doesn’t hurt to see if your server will accommodate the request!
