Quick Bite at Splitsville at Downtown Disney

I wanted to take a peek at the new Splitsville that recently opened at Downtown Disney, so I braved the holiday crowds and headed over to check it out for myself.

While there, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to do some quick food research. I noticed that the prices seem fairly comparable to Disney table-service restaurants and other eateries in the Downtown Disney area. I opted to try the Turkey Clubettes ($13.00). They are described as fresh shaved turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and special sauce.

I chuckled a bit when they arrives as they were quite small for the price. Would you pay $6.50 for a slider sized sandwich?

There wasn’t a lot of flavor or texture to these outside of the squishy bun. The cheese on it looks like cheese sauce, but it’s melted American that had congealed. The turkey was bland and the bacon was hardly noticeable, as were the lettuce and tomato. I ate one and brought the other home, where it sat in the fridge until I admitted there was no way I was going to eat it.

I’m sure they have some decent items on there, but I don’t see myself going there to dine. And I don’t bowl, so unless Matt wants to check it out, I don’t see a revisit in my future any time soon. The restaurant was fairly empty, and while I sat at a nearly empty bar, service was very slow. Very loud pop music plays in the restaurant as well, and I had enough of that when Gangnam Style came on. Overall, not a great first experience.

You can check out there menu here (PDF), and if you’re interested in their drink menu, head over to Drinking Disney for more info!

If you’ve visited, let us know what you thought of the overall experience! What did you order and how was it?

  1. The food here is great, just went here last weekend. I’ll definitely be going back!

  2. Which items did you try? I won’t order the Turkey Clubettes again.

  3. This is a bummer. I don’t think I’m excited about any of the food though! I thnk I can make something that looks better than those burgers and that’s saying a lot! …interested in seeing how popular this spot will be!

  4. Granted I only tried the one item, but I wasn’t too excited about the menu, either. Sure, it’s basically bar food, but now I’m less interested in trying anything else. As I mentioned, if Matt wants to try it, I’ll return and just order something different. It will be hard with restaurants like Bongos and Wolfgang Puck right across the way!
