Our “Snacks from…” series treats you to different snacks found in the World Showcase pavilions at Epcot. Find more reviews here! Continuing our series, we head to Mitsukoshi at Epcot’s Japan pavilion!
Today’s treat comes to us from Kabaya and features the cute bear, Rilakkuma. The candy is a marshmallow-type treat, and comes in pineapple and lychee flavors. The package comes with 4 each of the flavors, individually wrapped in pull-apart packages.
The marshmallow itself is slick and has an light oiliness to it to prevent it from sticking to the package. The lychee flavor is distinct, and I enjoyed it as I do in other candies and drinks I’ve tried. The color of the lychee pieces is white, and as you can see, the candy is like a marshmallow sheet when removed from its packaging.
The pineapple marshmallow has a yellow tint, and I found it to be a bit sweeter than the lychee. I did like the flavor of this one, but I’m a bigger fan of the lychee pieces. Texturally, the marshmallow had some similarities to the jet-puffed version we’re more familiar with, but this was in somewhere between a standard marshmallow and marshmallow fluff.
The candy was a fun one to try, and a new type to review on the blog. Once again the cute packaging is what drew me to these, and I’d love to see some additional flavors. Have you tried Kabaya Rilakkuma Marshmallow?
