Last year, when Terra was introduced to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, I was excited to see vegan options making their way into festival. Unfortunately, I didn’t care for the Chili Colorado that I tried, and wasn’t too keen on trying the other items that were available. I’ve heard reviews from both ends of the spectrum regarding the food served here, from love to straight up hate. Like every other post on the blog, I’m honest as to what I think of what I try. And I’ll be honest in saying that I wasn’t planning on revisiting Terra until I spotted the Fresh Watermelon Juice.
The idea of Fresh Watermelon Juice on the hot day I was in Epcot sounded wonderful. I gladly will sip the juice that escapes watermelon when I slice it up at home. It’s light, summery and just sweet enough, and the juice served at Terra is no different.
While I enjoyed the drink, it got a little boring after a while. Perhaps it’s because it started getting warm quickly and lost some of its “refreshing” aspects. Matt liked it at first, but felt the same way as me after a while and was unable to finish it. I struggled toward the end of mine too, and we ended throwing out about 1/4 of his cup. He also thinks it could have used some booze.
Here’s a look at last year’s Chili Colorado with House-made Chips and Cashew Cheese. While I did like the chips, I didn’t care for the chili. Those who are familiar with cooking Gardein note that it can get a funky texture if not prepared the right way, but many have noted they do like this dish.
Here’s a picture of this year’s Trick’n Chick’n Curry with Basmati Rice. The Chick’n portion seemed sizable with a good amount of curry sauce covering both the Chick’n and the Rice. I’ve heard the curry itself had a good flavor, but I have not tried it so can’t report back, personally.
The Chocolate Cake features Coconut Mousse and Passion Fruit Sauce. I think the dessert has a nice presentation, and the toasted coconut on top is a nice touch. Again, this isn’t a dish I’ve tried this year, but I’ve heard that the cake is dense like a brownie and the mousse has an odd texture.
