Last year, Earl of Sandwich released the Chipotle Chicken Avocado as a Limited Time Only special. It must have proven popular, as it made the regular menu. It features grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar, avocado, lettuce and chipotle sauce.
As a fan of all things spicy, I was quick to order it last year when it arrived. I enjoyed the sandwich, but didn’t order it from the regular menu until recently for the Challenge.
My sandwich this time around was a lot saucier than the last, which was fine with me. I felt the sauce had a bit more heat than last year, that tended to build as I continued to eat the sandwich.
Once again, the cheddar seemed lost, but the avocado and bacon flavors were bold and held up well to the sauce. The chicken was tender and there was a good amount of it on the sandwich, though its difficult to distinguish.
Of the Limited Time sandwiches I tried in 2012, compared to most of the ones I had this year, it’s one I’m definitely glad about it making the regular menu. Now that I’m almost done with the Challenge, I can stop by Earl’s and order one without feeling the guilt of trying something new to knock off the list!
