Snacks from Japan: Tomato Pretz

Our “Snacks from…” series treats you to different snacks found in the World Showcase pavilions at Epcot. Find more reviews here! Continuing our series, we head to Mitsukoshi in Epcot’s Japan pavilion!

One of my favorite things ever is Pretz. I love the stuff, particularly Tomato and Salad flavored versions. While I have access to a fantastic Asian district in Downtown Orlando, I still always keep my eyes peeled in Mitsukoshi to see if I spot the salty snack. On my last visit, I nearly jumped for joy when I saw the packages of Pretz on the top shelf! And one was even Tomato! The price for the Tomato was $5.99, while the large boxes of Apple Pretz and Yubari Melon Pocky were $19.99.

Snacks from Japan: Pokemon Soft Drink Sport & Water

Today’s snack from Japan clearly caught my eye thanks to the Pokemon on the packaging. I had also bought some for my sisters when they were visiting thinking they would be similar to Purun Purun Qoo jelly drink I had last year, based on the packaging. I didn’t look at the label, but I should have. These Pokemon Soft Drinks are “Sport & Water.”

Snacks from Japan: Bourbon Choco Anpan

Continuing our Snacks from Japan series is another fun treat I picked up from Mitsukoshi in Epcot’s Japan Pavilion. These Bourbon Choco Anpan cookies mimic Japanese anpan, a sweet bread that can be found with an assortment of fillings. The packaging features a baker with a fresh batch of anpan cookies.

Snacks from Japan: Meiji (Meisan) Pachipachi Panic Melon Soda

Do you enjoy Pop Rocks? Mitsukoshi in Epcot’s Japan sells Meiji’s slightly-different-than-ours variety! The packaging still screams the idea of the candy contained inside, much like our American version does. Although, for the vast majority of Americans, it takes the English translation to understand a little bit more of what we’re getting ourselves into! :)

Snacks from Japan: Koikeya Scorn BQ-Aji

Yes, “scorn.” These snacks caught my attention since they were familiar looking like crunchy Cheetos (a snack of which we’ve been on a bit of a kick at home). It was also a snack that interested Matt, which was is always good since I tend to purchase some of the more odd items from Mitsukoshi in Epcot.
