2012 Food & Wine Terra: Chili Colorado with House Made Chips & Cashew Cheese, featuring Gardein Beefless Tips

I know there was a lot of excitement about the vegan Terra booth when it was announced. I know there are plenty of vegans that often find options at the World uninspired, although that appears to be changing. Food & Wine would be a great time for guests to try sample vegan options and the chefs to get feedback.

While I was interested in at least trying an item or two from the kiosk, Matt was by far not enthused. I had used the Gardein Beefless Tips once before in a stir fry, and while the overall dish was fine, the texture of the “beef” wasn’t to pleasing on its own.

Still, I wanted to try the Chili Colorado with House Made Chips & Cashew Cheese, featuring Gardein Beefless Tips if only to see if there was a dish that made the product taste and feel more like meat.

Fresh A-Peel: House-Made Falafel Veggie Burger

I was searching for something new to try for dinner at Downtown Disney, and after looking at several menus while walking around, I didn’t spot anything that jumped out. It had been a while since I’d stopped by the Pollo Campero building, so I went in to see if anything caught my eye. Fresh-A-Peel had something that fit the bill: a House-Made Falafel Veggie Burger ($8.99). The burger is served with a choice of fries or Pop Chips. I saw some of the fries being placed on other guests’ dishes, and they looked a bit light in color. I opted for a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Pop Chips so I could at least take them home to enjoy at a later time.

The Citrus Swirl has returned, and thanks to Progress City, U.S.A., Matt and I headed to Magic Kingdom to try one. Stay tuned for our review!

Brenda enjoys the Marinated Beef Flatbread at Contempo Cafe, as do we! Check out her review at Disney Food Report!

It’s official that I need to try this Chicken and Field Mushroom Pie from Cookes of Dublin, thanks to Main Street Gazette!
