La Cava del Tequila

On Saturday, Matt and I headed over to Epcot for the day. We had a dinner reservation at La Hacienda de San Angel, but first we decided to grab a pre-dinner cocktail at La Cava del Tequila.

Matt ordered Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo. At $30 a pour, it is far from inexpensive. But, he said it was very well worth it. He is a fan of whiskey, and this was able to be enjoyed in that fashion.

I opted for the Jalapeño Margarita. It is made with El Mayor premium silver Tequila, jalapeño, fresh lime juice, cucumber and agave nectar, served on the rocks with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim.

I’ll be honest. I really was indifferent with this margarita. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t order it again. Matt gave it a try and liked it. He thought the cucumber was prominent, where I thought the jalapeño stood out more. We had brought our drinks over to dinner at La Hacienda to enjoy, and I only ended up drinking about half of the margarita. We ordered a couple of Dos Equis there while we watched Illuminations. We’ll be back with a full review of our dinner tomorrow!

  1. Mexico is one of my favorite pavilions at Epcot at which to eat, so I can’t wait to read more about your experience there! 🙂

  2. It really is a beautiful, well-themed pavilion!
