50’s Prime Time Cafe’s Fried Herb and Garlic Cheese

50’s Prime Time Cafe Fried Herb and Garlic Cheese was an item served several years ago at the restaurant, disappeared, and has returned. Herb & Garlic Boursin cheese is breaded, fried and served warm with Raspberry Sauce and Toasted French Bread. Apple slices and grapes also accompany the appetizer.

Most of the seasoning seems to be in the bread crumbs, with the Boursin quite mild but very creamy with a touch of herbs. The French bread has a crispy snap and is also seasoned with a touch of oil and some herbs. The raspberry sauce also added a great sweet-tart element as well.

The apples and grapes had bright, fresh flavors which paired nicely with the cheese, but the cheese was delicious on its own. I had stopped in to Tune-In Lounge to give this appetizer a try, which is a great option when stopping for a quick snack like this without taking up table service real estate at 50’s. If you’re visiting during busier times, however, you may be waiting for a bar seat, so plan accordingly.

  5. This looks delicious, and I really want to try it on my upcoming trip! The only thing is: Is it worth the $8 price tag?

  6. Andrew – I thought it was worth the price, and it was filling enough for me. It’s also nice to have something a bit different from the table service menus.

  7. I took your advice and tried the Fried Herb and Garlic Cheese on my recent trip to WDW. It was amazing!! I loves the combination of the creamy, warm cheese and the raspberry sauce! It was seriously one the best things I had on my trip.
