Haunted Mansion Holiday’s 2014 Gingerbread House

Okay, everyone. I love my WDW and Haunted Mansion here on the East Coast. I truly do. And I know it will probably never happen, and I’m not going to go on about it, but I’d LOVE to get Haunted Mansion Holiday over here! The new design for this year’s gingerbread house inside the Disneyland Attraction has been released. What do you think of it?

The one and only time Matt and I have been to Disneyland was back in 2010, and I was so nervous that the attraction wouldn’t open before our trip. Fortunately, it did, and there were many rides through the attraction.

The design has been created over the past year between Disneyland chefs, Entertainment team, and Walt Disney Imagineering. It will debut when the attraction opens September 12 and will run through January 6, 2015. Tim Wollweber, Graphic Designer/Sculptor, noted the design is “based on an iron maiden torture device from the Middle Ages.” See the poor, doomed gingerbread man inside?

Standing at almost 7 feet tall, the the Disneyland Resort Central Bakery will have 3 weeks to apple “200 pounds of gingerbread, 200 pounds of royal icing, 150 pounds of fondant, and all sorts of other sticky treats.” For the full report on the creation, see the article at Disney Parks Blog.

So, can I stowaway in anyone’s luggage in the upcoming weeks? 😉

  1. I’m a West-Coaster and the annual opening of the Jack Mansion is literally one of my favorite days of the year!

  2. So jealous! It’s such a fun layover!
