Tranquilo Golf Club, located at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando, has officially opened. While Matt might be ready to go hit the links, I’d be happy checking out the clubhouse. There, the restaurant Plancha is serving up bold Cuban-American cuisine, including signatures such as the “El Cubano” sandwich, empanadas, and “La Plancha” burger, featuring chorizo, maduro, and smoked gouda cheese. Wash those down town cocktails from the Mojito to a Hemingway Daiquiri.
Plancha is helmed by Chef Pedro Sanchez Negron, whose 16 years experience boasts a strong background in Latin, Caribbean, and Spanish cuisine. Frank Reilly, the restaurant manager, has nine years of food and beverage management experience. Apart from the aforementioned dishes, you’ll also find a smoked bacon and black bean soup, churrasco flat iron steak, marinated chicken, and dessert specialties like “Tres Leches” with coconut, traditional flan, and a coconut banana torta. The all-day menu is served from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
The restaurant features not just a full bar, but also a cigar bar. Visit the terrace and outdoor smoking lounge, complete with lakeside views, to enjoy the Plancha Cigar: a custom hand-rolled cigar made exclusively for Tranquilo Golf Club. There are currently two varieties of Plancha Cigars available: shade grown and sun grown, and they are offered in five sizes. Davidoff, Padron, and Romeo Y Julieta cigars round out the selection in the Plancha humidor.
