A Look at the 2014 Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House

The second stop for gingerbread sight-seeing on the monorail loop is the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Here, a large, Victorian gingerbread house is constructed in the lobby, and the aroma fills the air. The grand opening for the house is tomorrow, Friday, November 21, at 9am. Cast members will then sell gingerbread cookies and other treats from inside the house. To get an idea of the items for sale, you can check out our post on last year’s house. Be sure to click on the photos for larger images, and see if you can spot some of the gold Hidden Mickeys! They seem to be a bit trickier than the Hidden Olafs at the Contemporary’s display.

  1. Awww. I always want to go up and lick it – which I bet would go over REALLY well with security – but something tells me it doesn’t taste as good as it looks… Are the shingles they sell actually the same exact recipe?

  2. I would imagine the shingles used to construct the displays have some sort of variation on what is sold so they hold up as long as they need to.
