On Saturday, Matt and I made our way to the Studios to check out the progress of the Sorcerer’s hat being removed. Yes, we are some of the fans that are glad to see it removed. As we were heading out, we noticed The Trolley Car Cafe appeared to be open, so I went over to take some pictures.
At the entrance, we were asked by a Cast Member if we had a voucher. I replied that we did not, and we were each handed the slip below. The cafe was hosting a soft opening, with it’s official opening scheduled for Tuesday, from what I understand.
The cafe features to lines, separated by the baked goods display case, like the other Starbucks locations in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. With the voucher, we were allowed a beverage of choice or a pastry, free of charge.
Neither Matt nor I drink coffee, so he ordered a Cheese Danish and I opted for a Valencia Orange Refresher. Matt, who is not a Starbucks fan, liked the Danish. He said it had a good cheese-to-pastry ratio and was much better than the ones Disney typically offers. I had a bite and thought it was pretty good.
My Refresher seemed a bit on the weak side compared to what I normally get, but I didn’t mind. I can’t argue for the price! 😉
With limited quick service options for breakfast at Hollywood Studios, The Trolley Car Cafe fills a bit of a void, even if it’s “still just Starbyucks.” I’m sure I’ll stop in for my caffeine fixes. The space’s previous occupant was a gift shop geared to kids, so I’ll definitely be visiting more now. Will you be stopping in too?
