Dockside Margaritas recently opened at Disney Springs. The improved space features an updated look, larger building, and a sizable pergola with comfy seating. The space also features live entertainment from 2:30-10:30 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 12:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
On the menu are rocks and frozen cocktails, fruit wine, draft and canned beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and a selection of flavored nuts.
I ordered the Orange Grove Rum Runner, which features Siesta Key Spiced Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Crème de Banana, and Florida Citrus Juices with a float of Gosling’s 151 Rum. (Full disclosure, my cousin’s husband is the founder of Siesta Key Rums, and no, I wasn’t paid or asked to review this drink. 🙂 ) The former version of this drink was made with Bacardi Superior Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Banana Liqueur, and a float of Bacardi 151, and while it was a good tasting drink, this revamped version is much better.
The use of the spiced rum creates more depth of flavor over the white rum they used to use. The blackberry was a bit more prominent in this drink than last time, and I didn’t really get much banana (which is a good thing, to me). The “Florida Citrus Juices” was primarily orange from what I could tell, but the overall drink was well balanced and not overly sweet. This made for a nice beverage for sipping while strolling around Disney Springs.
Overall, I like the new space and think it was a great addition. Before, it was sort of tucked away on the dock, and in it’s new home, it has a more inviting environment. While I didn’t get to see any of the live entertainment, I was always enjoyable before and I wouldn’t mind returning to watch with a drink in the future.
