While we will no longer be able to eat poop in Animal Kingdom (see our review here), at least we still have an assortment of new popcorn flavors to enjoy. Zuri’s Sweets Shop is offering bags of four savory flavors of popcorn: Harissa, African Spice, Curry, and Ras El Hanout.
Since I like heat, I opted to bring home a bag of the Curry Popcorn. These seasonings used include Chili Pepper, Coriander, Paprika, Red Pepper, Dehydrated Garlic, Salt, Cinnamon, Caraway, and Ginger.
As you can see, there is a much shorter ingredient list than some of their other popcorn, such as the Cookies & Cream Popcorn.
The seasoning is easy to see, and the standout flavor was the chili pepper, offering a heat that built while eating it. The sugar helped keep the spices to stick to the popcorn, and also added a sweet, balancing component to it. The popcorn also tasted fresh (well, as fresh as you can from a bag), and retained a nice crunch to it, unlike the aforementioned Cookies & Cream Popcorn.
$5.95 is a bit pricey for a bag of popcorn, but it is Disney, and the flavor was really enjoyable. I would certainly pick up a bag of the Harissa Popcorn again, but I’m interested in trying the other flavors as well.
Have you tried any of the new Animal Kingdom-inspired popcorn flavors? Which one did you try, and if you’ve tried several, which is your favorite? Which would you like to try?
