Breakfast at Everything POP

Many of you probably know that I’m a savory breakfast person. And while a Breakfast/Bounty Platter sometimes fits the bill, you know I’m always on the lookout for some of the more unique items offered on property. While scouting menus on the WDW website, I decided I would make my way over to Everything Pop at the Pop Century Resort to try their Chicken Fried Chicken with Sausage Gravy. In addition to the generous piece of chicken (it filled nearly half the plate) were two big scoops of scrambled eggs.

If you’re familiar with Everything POP, you know it’s set up as cafeteria-style bays. The majority of food is already made and waiting to be assembled. I got in line, ordered my food from the Cast Member, and my plate was quickly put together. I paid at the checkout and made my way outside to grab a table.

Even with a few minutes time between receiving my plate of food, checking out, and sitting down, the chicken retained a crispy coating despite being smothered in gravy. The peppery gravy itself was thick and stuck to the nooks of the chicken’s breading. There was also some additional spice from the sausage. I know, it’s not much to look at. 😉

I tend to have decent luck with scrambled eggs at Disney – even ones held on buffets – but these were not so good. They were on the watery side. I had neglected to grab some salt and pepper, which would have helped with flavor, but they were bland without. I managed a few bites, but ultimately left most of them. Fortunately, I had plenty to eat with the chicken and gravy.

Overall, the Chicken Fried Chicken is a breakfast I’d definitely order again. Just because I didn’t care for the eggs this time around doesn’t mean this is the norm here. Plus, at this particular window, I might have been able to request to substitute fresh fruit, which comes with the waffles, or perhaps the potatoes or biscuit that comes with the Bbounty Platter. It never hurts to ask if you prefer to skip  the eggs. Otherwise, this breakfast is big on protein for those who prefer that route.

Have you tried the Chicken Fried Chicken with Sausage Gravy at Everything POP? What were your thoughts?
