Lunch at Splitsville

downtown-disney-westside-splitsville

Over the weekend, I stopped by Splitsville at Disney Springs for a quick lunch and to watch some football. I placed an order for an item I had very much enjoyed in the past: The Alberto. It’s one of the items from their sushi menu and is described as “no rice, just lean protein and veggies. Spicy tuna and avocado rolled in thinly sliced cucumber and served with lemon ponzu sauce.” This is what arrived. We’ll get to a comparison photo from the first time I had it momentarily.

Dinner at Splitsville

It’s been a while since I’ve ordered food at Splitsville at Downtown Disney. My first experience was far from memorable (at least from a “good” vantage point), and apart from cocktails at the outside bar, Matt had yet to try it for himself. With technical difficulties at the food trucks, we stopped in to get out of the cold and order some dinner.

For his meal, Matt ordered the Juicy Lucy. The burger consists of “two fresh burger patties smothered with cheese and topped with special sauce. Respect the Cheese!” Splitsville’s burgers and sandwiches are served with fries, and burgers are topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. Matt asked them to hold the lettuce. Pickles came on the side.

Frozen Drinks at The Crown Bar at Splitsville

While enjoying the weather at Downtown Disney, Matt and I grabbed a high top at The Crown Bar at Splitsville for a couple of frozen beverages and listen to the musicians play some tunes. Summer weather is creeping up on us, and being outside with a frozen drink to cool off is always fun. We looked behind the bar and saw the spinning alcohol-infused frozen drinks, and we reminded of strolling Duval Street in Key West with drinks poured from such machines. One flavor that stood out to us was the Gator Bite, as it reminded us of the Grainerade we had on that trip. Matt decided to order it for himself.

Tables in Wonderland Events for February 2013

Holy mackerel, we finally got an email from Tables in Wonderland for upcoming events! Only took a few years of having the card… Watch, we probably won’t receive another now. 😉

Splitsville at Downtown Disney is now accepting Tables in Wonderland in their dining room.

The Wave is a common location for these dinners, and their menu looks amazing!

This event in the Design & Display Warehouse has some interesting food themes! A Star Wars dessert station? Very fun!

Quick Bite at Splitsville at Downtown Disney

I wanted to take a peek at the new Splitsville that recently opened at Downtown Disney, so I braved the holiday crowds and headed over to check it out for myself.

While there, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to do some quick food research. I noticed that the prices seem fairly comparable to Disney table-service restaurants and other eateries in the Downtown Disney area. I opted to try the Turkey Clubettes ($13.00). They are described as fresh shaved turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and special sauce.
